Florida Child Advocate was created to protect children and to address key issues facing those with foster care, social services, dependency or developmental disability cases. Created by children’s rights law firm Justice for Kids and leading child advocacy attorney Howard Talenfeld, we believe that with quality child welfare services, children belong with their birth families whenever they can be kept safe. However, when children under the care of the Florida Department of Children & Family Services, its community-based agencies and their sub-contractors are subjected to physical and sexual abuse, torture, serious injury or death, or when their rights to medical care, psychological care, disability benefits, and their rights on the road to independence have been withheld, such children need skilled knowledgeable attorneys in child welfare systems to protect their rights and to bring personal injury damage claims.
