Talenfeld Law Attorneys Featured in 2019 Florida Super Lawyers Magazine Once Again

Talenfeld Law, the first law firm in Florida to focus exclusively on protecting the rights of physically and sexually abused, medically fragile, foster and other at-risk children, is proud to announce that the firm’s partners have been selected for inclusion in the 2019 edition of Florida Super Lawyers magazine. Firm founder Howard M. Talenfeld was named to the 2019 Florida Super Lawyers list and partner Stacie J. Schmerling was selected to the 2019 Florida Rising Stars list.

Super Lawyers, part of Thomson Reuters, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.

Talenfeld has been listed in Florida Super Lawyers magazine for 14 consecutive years, having first appeared on the list in 2006. He was also named in the Top 100: 2014 Miami Super Lawyers list. Talenfeld is recognized throughout the legal community and national media as having established one of the premier children’s rights practices. Throughout his legal career, he has been instrumental in the passage of landmark legislation in Florida, including a statute that provides legal representation to dependent children with special needs. He is rated AV Preeminent® by Martindale-Hubbell® and was recognized by The Florida Bar Foundation as the recipient of the 2018 Medal of Honor Award for a Lawyer. He was selected in the category of Civil Rights.

Schmerling handles matters regarding the protection of the rights of children, the developmentally disabled and others injured in the care of Florida agencies and contracted care providers. She is a former veteran child welfare investigator and social worker and she has been involved in many significant, multimillion-dollar cases in the area of civil rights and child welfare. She has earned an AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell® and is admitted to practice law in Florida as well the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. This is her second year on the Florida Rising Stars list, and she was selected in the category of Civil Rights.
