September 22nd, 2013   No Comments   Advocacy, News & Events

Florida’s Children First, the state’s premier advocacy organization for foster children, and neglected, physically abused and sexually abused at-risk and vulnerable youth statewide, will host its annual fundraiser and awards event this week.

The Florida’s Children First 2013 Gainesville Reception will be held Thursday, September 26 from 5:30PM to 7:30PM. The event will be hosted by Cotton and Gloria Fletcher. Ms. Fletcher is a leading North Florida children’s rights attorney.

The event will honor Governor Rick Scott with the Florida Youth Shine Appreciation Award. Governor Scott is being recognized for his legacy of supporting Florida’s children in foster care and for signing landmark legislation that will allow these children to lead a more normal life and extending foster care to age 21. Florida Youth SHINE will present the award with gratitude on behalf of children in care.

Community and business leaders, and all other persons concerned about the future of Florida’s children, especially abused, abandoned and neglected children and youth, are encouraged to attend.

Those interested in attending should contact Florida’s Children first for a reservation at 954-796-0860. Or RSVP via email tofcf@floridaschildrenfirst.org or online at www.floridaschildrenfirst.org.
