Florida’s Children First Launches “CHILL” Virtual Fundraiser to Support Critical Work with Foster Youth

FLORIDA’S PREMIERE YOUTH ADVOCACY ORGANIZATION BRINGS NAPA TO YOU,
AS IT GOES VIRTUAL TO HELP YOUTH IN FOSTER CARE

Florida’s Children First (FCF), an award-winning non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the rights of at–risk children and youth in the foster care system, is hosting the CHILL Virtual Wine Tasting fundraiser on July 29, 2020 at 6pm (EDT). While South Floridians continue to social distance, this event provides a safe venue for FCF to raise critical funds that support their mission of helping kids in and aging out of foster care, many of whom have been dramatically impacted by the pandemic.

“The struggles that many of us are facing during the Coronavirus are similar to what youth in foster care experience every day,” said Christina Spudeas, FCF Executive Director. “We hope this virtual event will provide a relaxing – and safe – venue for all of us to connect, have fun, learn about and taste fine wines while helping these kids.”

During this unique fundraising event, participants will “escape to Napa” as a master wine expert explains the featured wines, what makes them special, how to best complement each one, and much more. Participants can choose from a variety of premium wines from Napa’s renowned wine region, which will be shipped directly to their homes.

“While we were disappointed to cancel our annual ‘Advocates for Children Awards’ this year, the CHILL event gives us an opportunity to be both a ‘fundraiser’ and a ‘friend-raiser,’” notes FCF Board President and founder Howard Talenfeld, who serves as Business Unit Leader of the Justice for Kids Division of Kelley Kronenberg. “People are ready to ‘chill out’ this summer after several very trying months. They can enjoy some exceptional wines in the comfort of their own homes, while supporting and learning about a worthwhile cause. Everybody wins with this event.”

CHILL is generously underwritten by sponsors that include the Event Sponsor, Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley, Luminary Sponsor Stuart Building Products, Statewide Presenting Sponsor Kelley Kronenberg, and Statewide Sponsors The Guardian Trust, The Paul Palank Memorial Foundation, The Shane McGee Foundation, and the Florida Bar Foundation.

“We are thrilled to support this event and this organization,” notes Heath Eskalyo, Principal Partner/Chief Financial Officer of Kelley Kronenberg. “At a time when we are all facing unprecedented challenges, we remain committed as an organization to help those who are less fortunate. We believe rising tides lift all ships – and if we can help Florida’s Children First provide a brighter future for thousands of vulnerable youth, we strengthen the fabric of our community.”
